I emigrated from the Philippines in 1987.  I grew up in the Los Angeles area and have lived in Southern California since then.

  For the past few of years, I've been a research programmer at the University of California Irvine (UCI) with the Institute for Genomics and Bioinformatics (IGB) in the School of Information and Computer Sciences (ICS).

  I'm currently a first-year graduate student and pre-doctoral fellow with Dr. Pierre Baldi's group. I'm pursuing my PhD in Computer Science/Bioinformatics. I'm involved in several research projects in the fields of software engineering, genomics, computational biology, proteomics and chemoinformatics.
